Some days I think I have the coolest job in the world. Since I’m in the entertainment media business, I watch it for how it affects the people around me. And then I get to look directly into the consciousness of the sports world and what people are texting in across our systems during games and I'm fascinated by how clever some people are. I can say without a doubt that some people still have a sense of humor and know how to use it.

Thats a great question. We dont actually pick you out to receive a text message. A team does that. Sometime , somewhere, you participated in a promotion, contest or event put on by a sports team. Think back to the last time you went to a game. You got on a teams list. And team personnel changes and often they are not up to speed on privacy policy's in mobile and they blast out sms to list of people they think are fans but who never opted in. Its not done intenionally and its not done often but it does happen.
Heres the good part. you can stop it. just text back the word stop. and theyll never come again. if they do send me an email and Ill pay your cell phone bill.
